Social care assistant (9 - 12 months)

ADRA OPS

PHILANTHROPY, CHARITABLE FOUNDATION OF THE SERBIAN ORTHODOX CHURCH

Kragujevac, Serbia

Description

Philanthropy has been implementing emergency and development programs since 1991, focusing on marginalized and vulnerable groups. Its activities include psychosocial support, social services, education for the unemployed, economic empowerment, agricultural development, and capacity building of local communities. As a volunteer, you will provide professional support (social welfare, art, occupational, or other) at the Shelter for Homeless Persons in Kragujevac. You will also take part in community events aimed at preventing homelessness and support the distribution of food, hygiene kits, and cash or voucher assistance (CVA) to people at risk. Additionally, you will help assess homelessness risks in target communities and collaborate with stakeholders such as the Red Cross and the Center for Social Welfare, promoting Philanthropy’s standards in service delivery.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

You will share nice appartment near the shelter with other volunteer (with secure, lockable room). Philanthropy will cover all costs related to the accommodation. You will pay for your food costs and transportation from the monthly allowance of 470 EUR. Kragujevac is a relatively small town so you can conduct your daily tasks by walking, but there is a local transportation available as well.

Training during the activity

Apart of mandatory Code of Conduct orientation and Safeguarding Children and vulnerable adults training, Philanthropy can provide training on the Project cycle management and Monitoring and Evaluation to enable better understanding of programming and conducting activities. You will be offered to participate in other Philanthropy’s capacity building activities, as feasible.
